Hey I need some advice. I'm feeling rather conflicted about Miley Cyrus. I love her music/fashion but this whole thing about her fetishizing the black body and trying to 'be black' but ignoring Ferguson etc. makes me feel guilty about liking her.

Ive been taking an LGBT studies class and each week we watch a film.
I am so thankful for the brave men and women at stonewall who stood up for the LGBT community. The people who made it possible for me and others of the community to be who we are with no shame. Im so happy that some of them are still alive today to see what a true difference they have made for us. We still have a long way to go but i really felt the pain and anger of the people who were beaten, arrested, deemed as mentally ill, ect, because they are gay. I also felt the joy and immense relief those people felt by standing up for themselves and starting riots and uprising against the police and anyone who didnt agree. If any of you care, you should try and find the movies Before Stonewall and the Stonewall uprising online. Its truly empowering.
